A local Cancer Research UK fundraiser says she has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the support for Relay for Life in Eastbourne.
Janet Geering the event chair of Eastbourne’s Relay For Life, has been overwhelmed by local support to assist her in facilitating this inspirational family event.
This week, a local company offered to provide two completely new banners, at no cost. They also offered to provide signage for the day.
Graham Evans, from Signtek based in Southbourne Business Park, said, “We are really proud to be part of such a fantastic event for such a fantastic cause.”
Starbucks Eastbourne have offered to provide tea and coffee to be sold at the event, and Tesco’s Langney and Lottbridge Drove Stores have donated prizes for raffles.
Janet said, ‘’Relay For Life is an opportunity for people of all ages and genders to help raise awareness and at the same time assist in raising funds so that together we can find a cure sooner.”
Relay For Life is an overnight fundraising event that honours cancer survivors and celebrates life.
The event will take place from noon on July 25 to noon on July 26.
Eastbourne and Willingdon MP Stephen Lloyd will officially open the event.
There will be many attractions and events taking place over the 24 hours.
To register as a team, help with supplying goods or services for the day – or register as a survivor – please contact Janet Gerring by telephone on 07983 672332 or via the website www.eastbournerelay.com
