SUSSEX Downs College has been awarded the Artsmark Gold for its creative and performing arts education by Arts Council England.
It is one of just 18 colleges in England to achieve the award. Artsmark is a national programme developed by Arts Council England to recognise schools and colleges which engage their students with the creative industry and increase the level of their involvement with the arts.
Melanie Hunt, principal and chief executive, said, “I’m delighted the Arts Council has recognised that Sussex Downs College has a flourishing, high quality arts education programme. Our students benefit from outstanding teaching, access to fantastic resources and involvement in ground breaking projects.”
