Three Coastguard teams recovered a body from Beachy Head this afternoon (Monday, August 10).
Police received a call shortly after 1pm to say a body of a man had been spotted on cliffs by members of the public.
An alert was put out to all local Coastguard agencies, and three were swiftly in attendance at the scene.
The body was recovered by the Coastguard helicopter and taken to the mortuary at Eastbourne DGH.
A police spokesperson said: “At 1.14pm on Monday (August 10), police received a report from members of the public that the body of a man had been seen on cliffs.
“It was recovered by a Coastguard helicopter and was taken to the mortuary at Eastbourne District General Hospital for examination.
“No further information is available at this time.”
