Chestnut Tree House charity shop in Terminus Road, is celebrating its 10th birthday with a party on December 14, from 2pm to 3.30pm and everybody is invited.

The shop staff are getting festive for their party, and inviting everybody to wear a Christmas jumper, don some antlers or sport a Rudolf red nose. There will also be refreshments and a themed birthday cake.

Jan Harper, head of retail, said, “We would like to thank all of our customers and donors over the last 10 years for their generous support.

“In the last year, the Eastbourne shop team processed and sold over 40,000 items that were generously donated by local people, a fantastic achievement.

“It costs £6,850 to provide one day of care services at Chestnut Tree House. Last year, this shop alone raised enough funds to pay for seven full days of care at the hospice, where the children receive specialist support and symptom management from our nursing team, whilst enjoying the fantastic facilities which the hospice offers.”

The Eastbourne shop stocks a varied range of quality ladieswear and accessories, children’s clothes, toys, games, puzzles, books and bric-a-brac. They also have a large selection of menswear and accessories. If anyone would like to donate their time or their pre-loved, good quality items, the charity would be very grateful.
