A 19-YEAR-OLD who lost her sight has been presented a cheque from her old school.

Chloe Laslett, a former Ratton student, attended the Lyceum Community Assembly. Chloe has been diagnosed with the genetic condition Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy. The condition causes loss of sight and at this time there is no known cure.

Despite this, Chloe is determined to live life to the full and a fund has been set up to help make her life easier and pay for research in to the condition.

Ratton School have been fundraising for the cause and staff and pupils presented Chloe with a cheque last week. The school also hopes to raise money for the charity in the future.
