Chauffeur company’s insight for charity

An Eastbourne chauffeur company has donated £240 it would have spent on Christmas cards to a charity for the blind and partially sighted.

Club Class Chauffeurs handed over a cheque recently to the East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People so the charity could buy a set of demonstration lenses, that help users get the most from the sight they have left.

Jonathan Dow, managing director of Club Class said, “ESAB is an excellent charity and is local to us, so it seemed a really good use of the money that would have been spent on cards which quickly end up in the rubbish bin.

Steve Saunders from ESAB said, “Simple things like this can radically change people’s lives. With ordinary lenses ultra violet light causes a scattering effect and a large amount of glare. By blocking this a person with sight impairment can have their comfort and definition greatly enhanced.”
