Charity walk to raise funds for town’s CAB

HOW far would you walk for some good advice? Eastbourne Citizens Advice Bureau is looking for teams and individuals willing to sign up for a 10km sponsored walk on July 11 to raise funds for Eastbourne CAB.

Many don’t realise that Citizens Advice is a charity reliant on grants and fundraising.

Over the last year Eastbourne CAB responded to 10,253 enquiries and helped 3,563 people with advice on things such as welfare benefits, debt, employment, relationship issues and utility problems.

Constraints in funding mean a shortfall in the income the Bureau expects to receive in 2011/12 and a real risk there will be no choice but to reduce the service.

With your help there is a real possibility to avoid this and ensure people in Eastbourne continue to have access to the invaluable support and advice.

The walk will start at 5.30pm at the law courts in Old Orchard Road, finishing at about 7.30pm after following a route up to Beachy Head and along the seafront.

At the end all walkers will be thanked with a complimentary drink.

To sign up e-mail or call 413480 or contact Eastbourne CAB at Unit 6, 8 Highlight House, St Leonards Road, Eastbourne, BN21 3UH to register and request a sponsor form.

Further details of the walk can be found on the Eastbourne CAB website
