Charity to reach out in town

A charity is set to reach out to young people in Eastbourne following a grant from the National Lottery.

Little Gate Farm will be creating apprenticeships for 50 young people with learning disabilities and autism across East Sussex.

They have been awarded funding of £425,000 to run their new Supported Apprenticeship scheme which will help young people between the ages of 16 and 25 into paid apprenticeships with local employers.

Jordan, age 20, pictured above with his job coach, Carol, has been in a supported apprenticeship since October 2017. He said, “I love coming to work and earning money. The people here are nice too.”

Are you an employer or know a would-be apprentice? Little Gate have vacancies for young people, aged 16 to 25 with learning disabilities and autism. They must have an EHCP and be interested in a career in health and social care, childcare or hospitality. Call Ellie on 07722540838.
