POLEGATE’S calendar competition is again calling all budding photographers

The success of last years competition has led Dan Dunbar, a Polegate resident and keen photographer himself, to open the contest again to all local residents for the third year running.

People have the chance to showcase their work in a calendar, which will then be available in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Dan said, “This is a chance for local people to use photography to show what living and working in Polegate means to them.”

Residents are being asked to submit photographs taken from in and around Polegate.

“They may include buildings, scenery, local events and any other positive aspects of living and working in the area.

Judges will be looking for rural and urban landscapes and will also award points for a creative approach and good technical ability.

Dan added, “After the success with this years calendar raising £1,500 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice, I want the community to get involved to achieve another great calendar for a great charity.

“I want local people to use photography to capture well know local views from a new angle, to show Polegate and the local area from a new and interesting viewpoint.”

The competition is open to all local residents and they have until midday on October 19 to enter their four images into the competition.

Calendars will then be available from the St Wilfrid’s Hospice charity shop in Polegate, along with other Polegate shops from late November.

Images, their titles and the photographer’s contact details should be sent to the Polegate Town Council, 49 High Street, Polegate.
