A charity cyclist has won the Advanta’s Resident of the Month award.
Carolyn Lindsey took part in a bicycle ride through the hills of Kerala in India to raise funds for the women’s charity Genesis Research Trust.
This autumn Carolyn rode 320km over five days and personally raised more than £3,500.
Carolyn is a notable member of the Eastbourne community, devoting her time to support local independent businesses and also to create the Santa’s Grotto at the popular Little Chelsea Christmas, the proceeds of which went to a local children’s hospice.
Richard King present Carolyn with the award for her fundraising achievements and community spirit (pictured here).
As part of the award Carolyn will also receive a complimentary meal for two at local restaurant Ridgways in Meads Street.
The Resident of the Month award was introduced to recognise unsung heroes in the local community and has been running for many years.
It is jointly sponsored by Advanta Chartered Accountants and The Eastbourne Herald. To nominate someone you think deserves the Resident of the Month award, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01323 411222.
