A POLEGATE photographer is organising a competition to give behind the lens enthusiasts a chance to showcase their work in a charity calendar.

Dan Dunbar say the success of the last Pride of Polegate Calendar has led him to open the competition up again to all local residents.

This year’s theme is village life with residents being asked to submit photographs of buildings, people, scenery and events.

Pictures will be judged and the winners will see their photographs in a calendar for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. Dan Dunbar, competition organiser, said, “After the success with this year’s calendar, I wanted the whole community to get involved to achieve another great calendar and also be able to help a worthwhile charity.”

The competition theme village life is open to all residents and villages across the local area.

Photographers have until midday on October 21 to enter images into the competition.

The judging panel will be looking for rural, urban landscapes and scenes at events which show positive images living and working in the area..Judges will also look for a creative approach and good technical ability.

The 2012 St Wilfrid’s calendars will then be available from Withers DIY and the Polegate Town Council offices from late November.
