Rail operator Southern has commissioned the Twinings tea boxes illustrator to produce its latest railway art poster for its new spring campaign.
Top illustrator Gary Redford was chosen by the firm for his artistic style which is reminiscent of days gone by when iconic railway posters from the 1920s and 1930s were all the rage.
The latest campaign – Make The Most Of Spring – promotes Advance tickets where single journeys can be booked for as little as £5 when booked online at southern railway.com Gary’s poster Let’s Have Lunch Outside can be seen at stations across the Southern network, including Eastbourne, Polegate and Seaford, and is sure to be a popular addition to Gary’s previous work on Southern’s summer 2014 campaign - Have A Huge Summer.
Single Advance fares are priced at £5, £8, and £11 for adults, and £2.50, £4, and £5 for children aged five-15 (under fives are free).
A spokesperson for Southern said, “Every week 85,000 tickets are released 12 weeks in advance of departure - so the earlier customers book, the more likely it is they’ll snap up a £5 ticket. Of course not everyone plans that far ahead, so £8 and £11 tickets are often available right up until 6pm the night before travel.”
Make The Most Of Spring runs until mid-May.
