Stars of the silver screen are set to descend on Eastbourne once again as the Antiques Road Trip hits the road for a brand new series.

Downton Abbey actress Phyliss Logan and husband Kevin McNally, who starred in Pirates of the Caribbean, will visit the Eastbourne Antiques Centre and Jasper Wood for the first episode of its fourth series which airs tonight (Friday) on BBC 2.

On returning to the series, Logan said, “I knew what to expect slightly but it was much better fun than I could ever imagine.

“Cantering through the English countryside, meeting a whole load of eccentrics; wonderful.”

Newsreaders Natasha Kaplinsky and Michael Buerke, meanwhile, are set to show their faces at Summers Antiques in Polegate.

Twenty pairs of celebrities will team up for the show in total, including others such as Dame Diana Rigg, Hollywood big-hitter Brian Cox and legendary Radio 4 presenter Dame Jenni Murray.

In each programme, two competing celebrities put their wit and bargaining skills to the test as they set out to find hidden gems, before selling them at auction.

On hand to help each celebrity is a well-known antiques expert whose knowledge and experience will give the celebrity antique hunters the best possible advantage in the competition.

Travelling in classic cars, each team will be given £400.
