A car flipped after a collision in a busy Eastbourne road this afternoon (September 9).

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the incident involving two vehicles in Church Street at its junction with Victoria Drive at about 2.30pm.

Church Street was partially blocked both ways, and there was slow traffic in the area.

Michelle Smith wrote on the Eastbourne Herald Facebook page, “I was behind her when it happened. I helped her out of the vehicle along with another man.

“I sat her down until help arrived along with other people. Love it when people pull together to help someone.

“She was in great shock. The ambulance service was great and was on scene within minutes. Poor lady!”

The road was reported as reopened at 4pm.

The ambulance service has said an ambulance attended the scene and has taken the patient to Eastbourne hospital.
