Several properties have lost part of their roofs during the early hours of this morning (Monday) including Dunelm Mill and the David Lloyd Club.
Firefighters were called out to several properties during the night.
At 2.15am crews responded to reports of a dangerous glass panel at the View Hotel in Eastbourne. The area was made safe.
At 5.05am they were called to Hartington Place in Eastbourne following reports of an unsafe window on the fourth floor.
Firefighters also attended Herstmonceux Castle at 5.09am. There were reports of a fire in a maintenance area but it was a false alarm due to shorted security light from the storm.
At 6.22am, firefighters attended Dunelm Mill on Lottbridge Drove in Eastbourne after reports of roof sheeting being loose. They made the area safe.
At 6.34am crews were called to the David Lloyd Health Club on Broadwater Way, Eastbourne, to reports of dangerous roof sheeting. A number of panels were blowing from a roof which was under construction. Firefighters made the area safe.
Firefighters were called to reports of dangerous roof sheeting at a petrol station on Hailsham Road in Polegate shortly before 7am. The area was made safe.
They are also at the Old Polegate Station making the roof secure.
