BREAKING: Road closed for Hailsham foal rescue

Firefighters have closed a road in Hailsham as rescuers work to free a fallen foal from mud.

A crew from Hailsham and the specialist animal rescue team from Crowborough are at the scene.

Crews were called to the scene at around 2pm today (January 30).

Mill Road is currently closed while rescuers free the young horse.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Update: The foal has been freed by fire crews and left in the care of vets.

The road has now reopened.
