A popular Eastbourne taxi firm boss has passed away.

Chris Islip died on Sunday (April 10). He was 62.

Mr Islip, who lived in Cavendish Avenue, was behind Sussex Cars and previously ran a club in the town.

He was described by friends and colleagues as a much loved general manager and respected figure in the town who would be missed by many.

Mr Islip was also a prominent fund raiser and as well as raising money with the firm for local charities, sponsored various local events.
