More details have emerged after a man and dog were stabbed in an attack in Langney last night (Thursday).
Police were called to a house in Redford Close, off Marsden Road, at around 10pm and the police helicopter was also called to the scene.
The 26-year-old man was attacked by four intruders at the house.
He suffered deep cuts and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. He is in a serious but not life-threatening condition.
A Staffordshire bull terrier present at the scene was also wounded and is now recovering at a local veterinary surgery.
Detective Inspector Mark O’Brien, of Eastbourne CID, said, “The motive for the attack is still not clear. Four men in dark clothing forced their way into the house and slashed at the man with some sort of sharp instrument.
“It is possible that people in the vicinity may have seen or heard signs of a disturbance or noticed suspicious vehicles or people. We would like to talk to anyone who may have information that could help us with our investigation.”
Anyone able to help is asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 1791 of 18/6. Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
