Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was sexually assaulted in a public toilet in Eastbourne.
The 14-year-old was assaulted by a man after he went into the male toilets close to the O2 store in the Arndale Centre at about 4.30pm on Thursday June 27.
He left the toilets and reported the incident to police.
A 33-year-old man from Eastbourne was later arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and questioned before being released on bail until August 19.
Detective Constable Hugh Charles, of East Sussex CID, said, “This was a very distressing incident for the boy and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard what happened. There may have been other people inside the toilets who have not come forward and I would urge them to contact me.
“I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the boy, who was wearing a navy blue hooded top, with a white t-shirt underneath, navy blue knee length shorts and a rusty orange rucksack, and other men either going into or out of the toilets at around 4.30pm on the day.”
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting serial 1086 on June 27.
