A man has died in a two car collision on the A27 at Wilmington just outside Eastbourne.
Police are still at the scene of the fatal crash on the Lewes Road.
The road has been blocked by the head-on collision between a blue Vauxhall and a green 4x4 at about 6.30pm today (Monday).
The A27 has been closed between the Wilmington crossroads and the junction of the A27 with Eastbourne Road at Polegate.
One man has died and one man has been taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with minor injuries.
Sergeant Dave Morgan said, “The road is likely to be closed for a number of hours while we investigate what has happened and make the area safe.
“I would urge drivers to find alternative routes well away from the A27 although Wilmington crossroads is open to people using The Street or Thornwell Road and the A27 westbound.”
