BREAKING NEWS: Man charged with attempted robbery of post office

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the attempted robbery of Hampden Park Post Office.

Wesley Hinze, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on October 10 in relation to the incident on September 15, 2014.

At around midday on Monday, September 15, a man entered the store on Rosebery Avenue and threatened staff with a knife. He demanded money but eventually left empty-handed. No one was injured.

That was the second time the post office had been targeted in the last 18 months.
