BREAKING: Hunt for attacker after Langney attack

Police are investigating after a teenager was assaulted close to the Martello Pub in Eastbourne on Wednesday night.

The 18-year-old victim was walking along Langney Rise when he was approached by a man who asked him for money.

When he refused the attacker assaulted him and the victim suffered a broken nose, several chipped teeth and two black eyes.

He has had his wallet and phone stolen but they were later returned to him.

The area around the bus stop was cordoned off by detectives who have launched an appeal to find the assailant.

The incident took place at around 6.30pm.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101.
