BREAKING: Girl grabbed by man in Langney

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 15-year-old girl was assaulted by a middle-aged man near Langney Point, Eastbourne, on Monday (March 7).

At around 8.10am the girl was walking along Hardy Drive towards Ramsay Way when the man approached her from behind and grabbed her around the waist.

She was able to break free but her assailant scratched her face as she escaped his grasp and ran off. She was not seriously hurt.

The suspect is a white man, early 40s, 5’9”, of medium build with broad shoulders. He had a dark stubble on his face.

He was wearing a brown hooded top, with the hood raised, which had a grey diagonal stripe on the chest, and low-slung blue jeans.

Anyone who saw the incident, noticed the suspect or who has any other information is asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 0209 of 07/03.

Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (crimestoppers-uk.org).
