A 25-year-old man from Eastbourne has died after a crash in Heathfield yesterday (Sunday June 5).
Emergency services were called to a collision involving a commercial pick-up truck and a tree on the A267 at Little London at about 8.55am.
The road was closed until about 2.30pm while the vehicle was recovered and the safe was made safe.
The victim, from Eastbourne, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with serious injuries, where he later died.
The driver, a 56-year-old man from Eastbourne, was originally arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been rearrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until September 22 pending further enquiries.
