Birling Gap toxic haze: What we know one year on

Beach-goers enjoying their Bank Holiday had their peace shattered by an eerie noxious mist which descended on Birling Gap exactly one year ago.

The poisonous cloud spread across the area and caused vomiting, burning throats, streaming eyes and some to have difficulty breathing.
