A MOTORCYCLIST seriously injured in a crash in Seaside at the weekend is recovering at home.
The 51-year-old man suffered serious head and chest injuries in the crash with a Vauxhall Vectra on Seaside at the junction with Whitley Road on Sunday June 24 at 4.42pm.
The road was closed as emergency services rushed to the scene and the Sussex Air Ambulance flew the man to Kings College Hospital in London.
The motorcyclist, from Telscombe Cliffs, was said to be fighting for his life but as the Herald went to press yesterday (Thursday), police said he had been released from hospital and was now recovering at home.
The Vauxhall driver, a 42-year-old man from Hailsham, was not injured and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was later released on bail until August 24.
The road was closed while rescue and recovery work took place and reopened at around 9pm.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to call 101 quoting Operation Colorado.
