Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steve Hewlett will open the new Kids Stuff store in the Arndale Centre at the weekend.

Ventriloquist Steve, who was a finalist on the seventh series and has led a team on Eggheads, will appear with his puppets Chi Chi and Simon Cowell.

After declaring the store open at 10.30am, Steve will chat to families in the store.

There will be free face painting for youngsters until 2.30pm and free paper finger puppet making throughout the day.

Winners of a name the famous puppet competition running until February 4 will also be announced.

Kids Stuff, a family run business, with currently four generations involved within the company, has been operating in the Arndale Centre since 2010 but has just moved to a brand new unit for this year.

The business was launched in 1988 when owner Debbie Hartfield was looking for a toy in her local town and said she was unhappy with the choice available to her.

Some 25 years later there are now eight stores located across Sussex and Kent with a successful on-line presence via a website and other social networks.
