After months of planning, the biggest beer festival in East Sussex is back in Eastbourne once again this weekend.
The Winter Garden is hosting the annual three-day event, which kicked off yesterday (Thursday) and continues Friday evening and Saturday.
As always, tickets sold in lightning speed for the Friday and Saturday night sessions, which were soon declared sold out just days after going on sale.
The event promises more than 160 real cask ales on tap, with quirky names such as ‘Dragons Blood’, ‘Monkey Town’ and ‘Wobbly Bob’.
There will also be a mouth-watering array of British ales from local brews, including the ‘Star of Eastbourne’ and Beachy Head’s ‘Legless Rambler’.
Alongside the wide selection of UK ales, guests will have the chance to taste ciders and perries, world wines, international bottled beers and thirst-quenching juices.
Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure, Cllr Carolyn Heaps, said, “The beer festival is an annual excitement and with so many tickets already sold, this year’s festival is set for a very busy weekend.
“The three-day festival incorporates an excellent range of drinks and fantastic entertainment. I encourage you to grab your tickets before it’s too late.”
As usual, the event is organised by the Council and CAMRA’s South East Sussex branch.
A handful of traditional pub games are on hand to provide entertainment throughout the event, as well as bar skittles and table-top games such as backgammon and chess.
Guests will also get the chance to vote for the beer of the festival by collecting a voting slip at the entrance.
If there are any remaining tickets for Saturday afternoon, you can buy them by calling 412000.
