Bede's is rated '˜outstanding'

Bede's Prep School has been rated as excellent or outstanding in all areas of its inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).

The school’s headmaster was delighted with the result as it was reported pupils at the Duke’s Drive establishment receive the highest standards of learning.

Giles Entwisle said, “This report represents a whole-hearted endorsement of the huge commitment and passion for teaching and caring for children which is demonstrated by staff throughout Bede’s Nursery and Prep School, but also the love of learning which our pupils bring with them every day.”

In assessing the educational quality of the school, the inspectors found it to be the highest standard of excellent in both categories.

They highlighted the progress made by pupils regardless of starting point, as well as the collective and individual success in areas such as sport, dance, art, music and drama. The report cited the variety of activities as evidence the school ‘fully meets its aim to promote each child’s unique talents’.

The report also said pupils were caring towards each other, exhibited self-confidence and a strong understanding of the school’s values.

Nursery and pre-prep were found to have the highest standard of outstanding in all areas, including the quality and standards of the provision, the effectiveness of leadership and management, and in respect of the quality of teaching and learning and outcomes for children.

The inspectors said staff knew pupils exceptionally well, and noted the children’s very positive attitude to learning and the high levels of parental satisfaction with regard to its leadership.

Finally, the inspectors found Bede’s to be fully compliant with all regulations.
