STAYING fit hasn’t been this such fun since childhood for these ladies who meet weekly for the town’s only Balletcise group.

Recently the troupe, which meets at the Natural Fitness Centre on the prom on Tuesday afternoon, performed for patients at St Wilfrid’s Hospice. The group, which is for adult women of all ages, also attended a charity event in aid of the Pevensey Ward Appeal.

Some members enjoyed ballet in their youth, others have only just taken it up.

Centre owner Alison Brown said, “We’re very proud of our balletcise group.

“It may be an unusual way to keep fit, but it’s very effective way for older people to remain active and also, for some, revisit something they used to love as children.”

Jane Gochin, the group’s organiser, said, “I’m just so delighted with their enthusiasm, energy and confidence.”

New students are welcome at 3.45pm every Tuesday at the Natural Fitness Centre, Royal Parade, and further information is available at or by calling 738700.
