Author to appear in Alfriston for a talk about writing

The owners of a bookshop in Alfriston will welcome author Susan Hill for a special talk in the town on Sunday November 30.

Much Ado About Books are running an event with author Susan Hill. She has written a wide range of novels, from ghost stories such as The Woman in Black to detective fiction featuring Simon Serrailler; from literary fiction such as the well-received Strange Meeting to her best-selling memoir Howards End is on the Landing.

“We are really excited to have Susan speaking,” said Much Ado partner Cate Olson. “There is nobody to match the breadth of her interests and her ability to tell a gripping story.”

Susan’s Christmas poem, Can it be True? has recently been reprinted with new illustrations, said Olson, and Much Ado will be giving everyone who comes to the talk a free copy of the book.

“It is a wonderful poem, and the illustrations match it so well – it is sure to be a favourite for families this Christmas,” she said.

The talk will start at 4pm, at Deans Place Hotel in Alfriston. Tickets cost £10, and are available only in advance at Much Ado Books, 8 West Street, Alfriston, or online at Call 01323 871222 for details.
