A seafront kiosk which was attacked by arsonists earlier this year is set to reopen with a Christmas theme this Saturday (December 1).

Ride ‘n’ Joy at Fishermen’s Green was gutted in a fire back in July.

Flames ripped through the small kiosk where Pauline Allen runs her quadricycles hire .

Pauline also sells teas, coffees and snacks from the kiosk and she was devastated when the kiosk was burnt down in the summer.

Nothing was salvageable from the back of the kiosk but the black smoke damaged furniture, which was stored at the front, was jet washed by the fresh fish shop at Fishermens Green.

The community rallied round and helped with the clear-up allowing Pauline to reopen as soon as possible after the fire.

At the time of the fire Pauline said, “I just can’t believe how amazing people have been. “

However, the kiosk has since been rebuilt and its opening will be celebrated on Saturday with a Christmas fair.

Pauline said, “Finally after many months, the Ride ‘n’ Joy Kiosk has been rebuilt and will open it’s doors to customers again.

“We have decided to open with a seasonal themed Mini Christmas Craft Fair for both the Saturday and Sunday.”

The event will be held from 10 am to 3 pm on both days.

Pauline will be offering half price quadricycle rental, dependant on the weather.

The Fresh Fish Shop, also situated at Fishermen’s Green, will join the fun and sell Paella in front of the Ride ‘n’ Joy kiosk.

There will be various stalls

selling stocking fillers and visitors will be able to enjoy hot mulled wine from the kiosk in addition to the usual tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Pauline is looking forward to the weekend and said, “We are so pleased to be back open and up and running.”

Pauline suggests visitors jump on the bus at Eastbourne Pier and go down to Fishermen’s Green for £2 return .
