According to East Sussex Fire & Rescue, at 10.31pm on April 14 crews were called to attend Larkspur Drive following reports of a fire in the open area of Shinewater Park.
Firefighters from Eastbourne attended and used one hose reel jet to extinguish a fire in a small area of grassland, crews said.
The service said the cause was deemed as deliberate and the incident was handed over to Sussex Police.
