Police are looking for witnesses after an armed robbery at a betting shop in Eastbourne.

A man went into BetFred on Framfield Way at around 8.30pm on Monday (November 2).

The suspect threatened a 25-year-old male staff member with a knife and took more than £900 in cash.

Police are looking for a slim man, 5ft 7in, of Eastern European appearance who was wearing a black beanie hat and dark jacket.

He was seen to make off on foot in the direction of Rodmill Drive.

A 32-year old man was arrested the following day at an address in Eastbourne on suspicion of robbery and was released on bail until January 21 while enquiries continue.

Detective Constable Paul Gray said, “If you were in the area that evening and saw anything that could help, please contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial number 1603 of 02/11.

“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
