Archery centre to host special summer rock opera workshop

A ROCK opera workshop is taking place at the Archery Youth Centre during the summer holidays.

Young people can attend the workshop from today (July 29) until Friday August 5 from 10am - 3pm and will be able to write the narrative, score the music, make the set and perform the show in less than a week.

Organisers Debbie Cadwallender said, “The process of putting the opera together will test the creativity of all the attendees; the score will be far from something you’ve seen a billion times at your local theatre.

“The workshops and show are ideal for anyone who has in interest in performing, singing, playing an instrument and just generally being creative.

“Tech wizards are also welcome as the show will need effective lighting and sound effects as well as set design.” The project is ideally for 13-19 years but enthusiasts of other ages will be considered.

Places are limited and the cost of the project cost is £5.
