An appeal is being made for the culprit to hand themselves in after Eastbourne Bandstand was covered in graffiti at the weekend.

The seaside attraction as well as other nearby walls were spray-painted with sprawling tags on Friday night (November 30).

After the discovery the seafront team said they have handed in a CCTV photo of the suspect to police but, if the person responsible helps clean the mess up, they won’t unmask them.

They said on Facebook, “Very disappointed to report that our seafront including the Eastbourne Bandstand has been targeted with graffiti.

“This is a message to the young man pictured here at 18.32pm on Friday and his friends.

“Your unmasked photo has been given to the police and will be shared on here later this week. If you get in touch with us to help clean the walls you have sprayed before the police find you, we won’t unmask you.

“For all of our local residents, please help us get this message to our budding artist by sharing this post.”
