Appeal as Eastbourne accident leaves man ‘seriously ill’

A man is injured in hospital after an accident in Eastbourne last week.

Sussex Police said today (October 3), it is appealing for witnesses, after a man was hit by a car on Saturday (September 27).

The 31-year-old victim and a grey Volvo S40 collided at 10.50pm on the A259 Seaside, at the junction with Hydneye Street.

The man, from Eastbourne, was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital by ambulance suffering from two broken legs and head and facial injuries.

He remains seriously ill in hospital.

PC Nigel Dunn said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the Volvo or the man in the area in the moments before the crash.

“If you have any information at all, please contact us.”
