RADIO Airbourne 87.7FM takes to the airwaves again this year with interviews, live commentary and visitor information.

The station broadcasts all the latest Airbourne news and previews along with great music 24 hours a day through until August 12.

The station is staffed entirely by volunteers, and features a team of presenters and technicians whose expertise includes BBC Network Radio, Radio Caroline and Hastings Rock.

Radio Airbourne morning presenter and engineer Jon Robson said, “We’re excited to be back at Airbourne this year and can guarantee you some great fun and laughter with the best music, listener requests and all the latest information on everything from where to park to what’s up in the air right now.

“We’re also looking forward to hearing and sharing people’s memories of Airbourne from the last 20 years of the show.”

As well as music and live commentary during the event, listeners can hear the latest travel and car parking updates from roving reporter Ali Traffic, plus weather, competitions, local attractions information and live interviews with the pilots as they return from the airport.

A first for this year, the team will bring the ‘Radio Airbourne Roadshow’ live to the Garden Bar at Sovereign Harbour Waterfront on Friday August 10 from 8pm, with the chance for fans to meet the team and join the party.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Cllr Neil Stanley said, “Radio Airbourne always delivers a professional service and it is great to have them supporting the event.

“With crystal clear quality commentary over the radio, you can watch Airbourne from anywhere along the coast and not miss a thing.”
