Air ambulances called to A27 collision

Emergency services including two air ambulances are currently on scene at a collision on the A27.

The road is blocked at the Pevensey bypass near the A22 junction after the incident at around 3.30pm today (Monday).

A spokesperson from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said, “Three fire engines from Eastbourne and Pevensey were sent to A27 westbound, near the junction of the A22.

“Firefighters are currently assisting at the scene of the incident involving three vehicles in which two people are reported to be trapped.

Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) are also in attendance.”
