A27 near Lewes will be closed overnight on Friday

The eastbound A27 near Lewes will be closed overnight tonight (Friday 29 August) while emergency work is carried out to reinstate road markings and install signage.

This work is required to replace temporary signage and ensure road user safety.

The eastbound A27 between the Southerham and Beddingham roundabouts will be closed from 10.30pm until 6am. In addition, one lane of the westbound carriageway will also be closed during this period.

There will be a clearly signed diversion route via the A26, A22 and the A27.

Drivers travelling eastbound on the A27 are advised to plan their journeys and allow extra time.
