A man who died in a two car collision on the A27 Lewes Road at Wilmington this week has been named as Eastbourne man Peter Sinden.

The 57-year-old, of Cavalry Crescent, was travelling eastbound in his Vauxhall Meriva on Monday night (November 18) when it was in collision with a green Land Rover Freelander travelling west.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision, which occurred at about 6.30pm some 400 metres east of The Street, Wilmington.

It led to the A27 being closed between Wilmington crossroads and the A2270 Eastbourne Road, Polegate.

The driver of the Freelander, a 58-year-old Seaford man, was taken to the DGH with slight injuries.
