18 years of funding is celebrated by charity

A charity which helps to support other charities celebrated 18 years of the Big Lottery Fund.

3VA has received funding from the Big Lottery Fund via two grants since 2007, totalling £547,700, which concluded on September 30.

The charity helps new groups set up and establish themselves, find funding, provide training to members and attempt to improve the way they are run to make them more efficient. It also organisers regular networking events which help groups get together to share experience and expertise, as well as trying to provide a voice for the hundreds of volunteers living and working locally.

The Eastbourne-based charity is one of four organisations in East Sussex currently working in partnership on the Transforming Local Infrastructure East Sussex (TIES) project. This project has received £349,285 funding via another Big Fund project.

Recently, 3VA joined other lottery beneficiaries from the South East in Eastbourne to celebrate 18 years of National Lottery good cause funding .

The event gave 3VA the opportunity to meet other charities.
