TOP comedians are raring to go as the Screaming Blue Murder Comedy Club returns to the Winter Garden on April 21.
This month, Lee Hurst, The Raymond & Mr Timpkins Revue and Alistair Barrie take the stage to entertain the crowds.
The quick-witted Lee Hurst headlines. After earning his spurs on the comedy circuit, Lee Hurst made his name as a panellist on BBC quiz show, They Think It’s All Over.
Although he has no sporting prowess, and knows next to nothing about football, he won over viewers with his easy banter. With guest appearances on That’s Showbusiness, The Stand Up Show and Have I Got News For You, Lee is at his best simply bouncing off members of the audience.
Joining Lee Hurst comes the unique character comedy that is The Raymond & Mister Timpkins Revue.
This charismatically-challenged uncle/mute nephew co-operative invite you to their disturbing world of brushed velvet arousal.
Together since 1992, their highly original performance approach has made them regulars in Universities and comedy clubs around the country, including appearances at the Edinburgh (where they appeared in The Best of the Fringe), Glastonbury, Phoenix and Reading festivals.
Completing the line-up is actor and stand-up, Alistair Barrie. He first rose to prominence with his sell-out 2002 debut Edinburgh show The Uncertainty Principle and consolidated his position in 2003 as one of the rising stars of the national and international circuit, with acclaimed performances at both the Reading and Leeds festivals and headlining shows in Jakarta and Singapore. Appearing soon on BBC 7’s Spanking New, Alistair has also performed throughout the UK and Ireland and as far afield as Amsterdam, Brussels, the Channel Islands, Sydney and Melbourne.
Keeping all three in-check this month is compere Windsor. Doors open at 8pm and the comedy starts at 9pm. Tickets cost £9, call 412000.
