St Albans came out on top at £1,404 per month. York and Norwich also featured in the top 10.

The research also revealed the most affordable cities for childcare. Plymouth, Worster and Leicester all cost less than £550 a month - meaning Eastbourne parents could save thousands a year by relocating.

The research looked at over 100 of the most populated cities in England to reveal the best English city to raise a family.

This involved ranking them on factors such as outstanding schools, cost of a home, cost of private childcare, safety, air quality, family-friendly attractions, and family-friendly restaurant.
