From autumn-inspired artwork and a free organised Halloween-themed craft activity to a trip to the local art gallery, even if the weather is bad there is plenty to keep the children entertained for the week in Eastbourne.

Holywell - There is still fun to be had at the beach, even though the weather is cooler. Look up the tide times online and see what you can spot rock pooling at low tide. Climb the steps on the beach and walk to the playground at Helen Gardens.

Abbots Wood - Enjoy the changing seasons and the beautiful colours of autumn with a walk through Abbots wood to the lake. There is also a big swing in the open area near the car park. A parking charge applies. Phot by Stephen Muddell

Collect autumn leaves to make a seasonal hanging for the window - Collect leaves while out on you woodland walk and use them to create artwork or payme as inspiration for an autumn painting. Good for a rainy day.

Towner Gallery - Another rainy day activity. It’s free to enter the Towner Gallery and the children might enjoy looking at the artwork and be inspired to create something similar at home.
