Karon Lymington Crouch puts on the display at her house - 46 Hawthylands Road - for the festive season and it is now available for people to see every day from 4pm-9pm.

Karon said, “This year has been hard for us all so I have decided the charity is going to be Hailsham Foodbank.

“They do a incredible job supporting local people in times of need and hopefully we can help them to help a few more people. So many people have struggled this year financially with losing jobs so I wanted the money to go to them.

“I love Christmas myself and it brings so much pleasure to the local community, which ultimately makes me enjoy my Christmas more.”

Julie Coates, manager of Hailsham Foodbank, said, “During December every household referred to us will receive a bag of Christmas treats along with additional families referred from local schools and children’s workers.

“Hailsham Foodbank saw a 95 per cent increase in emergency food parcel referrals between April and September compared to the same period last year so we appreciate all donations, both food and money, to keep up with the demand.”

Karon asks people to avoid the grass areas of the garden, and stick to the gravel driveway.

She said, “I would also like to thank Dave Flatt of DF Services – without his support with our electrics it would not be possible.”
