Chaucer’s classic text is brought up to date in this exciting new adaptation of The Canterbury Tales which comes to the Devonshire Park Theatre from Thursday, November 8 to Saturday, November 10.

Following its acclaimed run at Southwark Playhouse, Tacit Theatre’s uniquely immersive production of The Canterbury Tales comes to Eastbourne.

Putting the audience at the heart of the action this fascinating production brings the medieval masterpiece right up to date, through an explosion of live music, storytelling and general mischief.

At turns enchanting, scandalous and disgusting the tales unfold in a mixture of story and song as this multi-talented ensemble cast of rogues and wenches tell stories to entertain each other on their journey to Canterbury.

In The Knight’s Tale, The Miller’s Tale, The Friar’s Tale and The Summoner’s Tale and others, Chaucer’s characters remain as engaging and recognizable as they were in the 14th century.

This production has an age recommendation of 14 and over.

Evening performances will be held at 7.45pm with Friday and Saturday special matinees at 2.30pm.
