NOSTALGIA: The day the Queen came to Eastbourne

We feature some super old photos this week thanks to the family of the late Herald photographer Terry Connolly. They include photos taken when Queen Elizabeth visited Eastbourne in the 1960s, the Eastbourne tram and Beryl Tollemache lifeboat. The pictures include the royals at Pevensey Castle, crowds at the Archery, inspecting cadets at Eastbourne College, the tram, the Queen signing a picture in the Town Hall, the lifeboat and crowds on the seafront. Another photo was sent in by 90-year-old Graham Dodd from Lindfield Road who was among the Second World War evacuees sent from Eastbourne to Watford in 1939.
