Long standing figure retiring from East Sussex NHS Trust

A long-standing and ‘dedicated’ member of staff is retiring from East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT) after 23 years.

She joined the NHS in 1987 as personnel manager with South East Thames Regional Health Authority.

Mrs Green held various posts within the south east region, before moving to Brighton Healthcare NHS Trust as personnel manager in 1993.

She then joined Eastbourne Hospitals NHS Trust (ESHT) as director of personnel and training in 1997, and subsequently became director of HR when ESHT formed in 2002.

Mrs Green said, “After 23 years working in East Sussex, I will be sorry to leave. This has been a major part of my life and I will truly miss the many amazing and talented people across the organisation.

“I will look back on my time here with great pride and with fond memories, having had the pleasure of working with some of the very best people in the NHS.

“I have experienced many changes over my time here but the one constant is the commitment of the people who work here to provide high quality care for patients. “I am leaving a very supportive and professional team who I am sure my successor will enjoy working with. I wish everyone all the best in the future.”

Steve Phoenix, chairman of ESHT said, “It has been a real honour and privilege to work alongside Monica in my time here at ESHT. She is dedicated and a hardworking team player with a deep understanding of our values.

“She will be missed. I would like to thank her personally for her guidance and the support she has provided to me and my follow board members both past and present.

“On behalf of the board of directors and our 7,000 plus strong workforce, I would like to thank Monica for her outstanding contribution to the NHS and wish her the very best for the future.”

Mrs Green’s replacement as director of HR will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
