He had been made aware of adult social care as there were safeguarding issues, the inquest heard, but Mr Molloy had disengaged with services and had little contact with his family.

His body was discovered on March 15 this year after neighbours noticed he had not been seen for some time.

The inquest, which is open to the public and members of the press who are permitted to report the proceedings in full, heard his cause of death was unascertained due to decomposition.

East Sussex coroner Alan Craze concluded Mr Molloy’s death was due to natural causes.

Report by India Wentworth.
